What I'm about to share with you is not new information.

It is not earth-shattering news trending in your social media feed.

Nope.

What I'd like to remind you of is an old, old truth. Something you intrinsically know in your bones. 

This little nugget of wisdom is one of the most under-appreciated truths most of the world ignores. Easy to grasp but hard to practice. Which means there must be something significant and life-changing about applying it to your life. 

Here it is:
 

Slow is fast. 


I know, I know. Obvious right?

You've heard it before. Like, a hundred-thousand times. But, the fact you've heard it so many times doesn't mean you understand or practice it. 

I've written about this tiny, yet powerful mantra before, and still, so many people I meet and coach and speak to struggle putting it into practice. 

Slow is fast because when you intentionally slow down you have the energy and focus to finish well. 

Without a doubt, this is one of the most needed spiritual practices today. 

Let me explain.

The world is wired around "MORE". More stuff. More productivity. More attention. More followers. More entertainment. More fame. More noise. More this and that. More. More. More.

And, your soul - your very life - is screaming "LESS".

And, the only way to "LESS" is to retreat.
To slow down.
To get away.
To call timeout.
To gain perspective. 
To reflect.

I'm not talking about an entertainment-filled-five-star-holiday filled with running around some tropical place (even though this sounds fun). I'm talking about a pattern of life where you regularly pull away from the chaos and hustle. 

For me, it's how I use my Sundays.
 
I'm religious about taking at least a few hours to be alone. Nothing on. Nothing planned. Nothing tying me down.

Crazy, right?

I don't think so. 

Crazy is running from one demand to the next. Filling your life with the very thing which is stealing it. I'm advocating sanity. A better (and different) way to live and work.

Again, this is not news to you. I realize that. Think of it as a friendly reminder that you are a human being, not a human doing. 

Anxious? Burnt out? Frustrated? Tired?

Your life is telling you to slow down. Because slow really is fast.
