This is not your forever.

Ciao my kind and beautimous friend...

Nine out of ten people reading this need to be reminded of one simple fact:

Whatever your "stuck" is today, it is not your forever.

Maybe you feel stuck in a dead-end job. A suffocating relationship. A boring town. A system of belief that isn't working for you. A mental fog you can't seem to shake. A body you don't like. Whatever it is, let me repeat myself: this is not your forever.

Seasons come and go. Winter turns to Spring which turns to Summer which turns to Fall which turns to Winter and the cycle continues. This is the rhythm of life. The way of nature.

And, YES, I know waiting sucks.

But, waiting isn't a passive thing. There's heaps you can do when you wait. Like...

  • Go to work on yourself...

  • Read one of those books gathering dust on the shelf...

  • Actually, journal for more than three days...

  • Get your house in order...

  • Learn a new skill or language...

  • Reach out and strengthen your network...

  • Spend some time in nature...

  • Be present and love the people who are in your life right now...

  • Cook a good meal and invite your neighbor over...

And, about a hundred other simple, life-enhancing positive choices.

There is a catch...
You have to stop feeling sorry for yourself first. Which is hard. Extremely difficult for some. Because self-pity is just so damn intoxicating. So much so, if you aren't careful you can make it a permanent way of life. And, never fully see or appreciate the season you're in right now.

You're too good to waste time there amigo. Your time is just too valuable. The calling on your life is too great.

Today is not your forever, but it is your today. And, as cheesy and cliche' as it sounds: today is a gift.

It might feel like a bad Christmas gift from your crazy aunt, but it is still a gift. Which means you've been given something and it's really up to you to make the most of it.

Here's to not wishing your life away...
