The best and worst of my life so far.

Guten Tag, my kind and compassionate friend...

I don't know exactly who said it, but I agree with the sentiment, it's the losses, not the wins which we remember the most in life. How true this is. At least for me.

Going all the way back to the beginning I can say the darkest-pain-filled moments shaped and impacted me more than I can put into words...

  • Experiencing emotional and physical abuse as a child...

  • Enduring isolation and punishment for having ADHD before they had a label for that kind of thing...

  • Being uprooted from relatives and friends as an 11-year-old kid and moving a thousand miles away to a place I'd never been...

  • Battling through personal (self-inflicted) demons...

  • And, most recently reinventing myself professionally from scratch...

Just to name a few of the challenges and hurdles in my life.

The truth though is these were not curses or tragic circumstances. All the pain, difficulty and heartache I've experienced so far have been blessings in disguise.

They have shaped me. Educated me. Made me who I am as a person.

And, for that I am grateful.

Don't get me wrong. I have a lot going for me.

I just wanted to shed a little bit of light on the shitty and terrible challenges you may be experiencing or going through right now in your own life.

While I have no idea what it's like to be you or to face the challenges of your particular situation. I do know the bad in your life can become good down the road. What may seem like the darkest of nights might be the very thing which gives you the empathy, resilience, and courage to live your best life.

You're not done. Not even close. Keep going. Pick yourself up again for like the millionth time.

Who you're becoming is a light and example for others.

Here's to tilted halos...
