The art and skill of reinventing yourself.

Bueno you beautiful crazy mess...

Here are some of my favorite quotes about reinventing yourself:

“Just as established products and brands need updating to stay alive and vibrant, you periodically need to refresh or reinvent yourself.” —Mireille Guiliano

“Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.” —George Bernard Shaw

“It’s never too late—never too late to start over, never too late to be happy.” —Jane Fonda

“The reinvention of daily life means marching off the edge of our maps.” —Bob Black

“People who cannot invent and reinvent themselves must be content with borrowed postures, secondhand ideas, fitting in instead of standing out.” —Warren Bennis

I've had to reinvent myself a few times personally and professionally.

And, despite my fears around whether I was smart enough or if my skill set translated, I have continued to evolve. I've become stronger as a person. And, I'm more confident in just being me.

You can reinvent yourself, too.

In fact, I think you have to if you want to make any kind of real impact in the world today.

I'd go so far as to say your future (and mine) depends on it.

The starting place (as always) is within you. You've got to get your head and heart around letting go of anything or anyone holding you back. This takes a lot of courage and confidence on your part. Just thinking about it should scare you a bit.

The fire in your belly and mental tsunami lets you know you're alive.

I'd venture to guess, if you've read this far, you're wanting to wake up. Change. Be challenged. And, become someone better and different than the person you are today.

Which leads to the second step in reinventing yourself: starting with the end in mind. You need a clear picture of where you're headed and what it's gonna take to get you there.

The third, fourth, and fifth steps are pretty straightforward:

3. Experiment and risk in some small way.
4. Fail a lot, succeed some (to figure out what works for you).
5. Then adapt and keep going.

Repeating these steps over and over and over will push you and force you to move in a new direction.

It's that simple. And, that difficult.

But, the good news is it's possible. Trust me, I know from personal experience.

Here's to the old you dying...

PS. I'd love to know what 2 or 3 topics are front of mind for you. Hit me back with what you want me to tackle in the coming weeks. Thanks in advance.
