What to do when you feel like giving up.

G'day you courageous and special human...

Growing up I spent a lot of time in the woods and fields surrounding my house. I'd go on imaginary adventures battling the bad guys and bravely conquering whatever foe I could conjure up in my mind. I would wander for countless hours climbing trees and cutting through overhead brush stalking around in the forest just out of earshot of my mother's voice calling me home: "Stephen, it's time for dinner."

Truth be told, I still wander around and about some 30+ years later. Battling unseen enemies and imaginary foes I conjure up in my mind.

Except, these enemies seem real...

  • Fears about failing as an entrepreneur...

  • Feelings of inadequacy around my physical appearance and weight...

  • Limiting beliefs about my future and ability to scale my business...

  • Old lies I used to believe rearing their head from time to time...

  • My own ego trying to crush me through comparison...

  • And, a bunch of other dark thoughts that trip me up.

Maybe you can relate?

You see amigo, I'm just like you. I believe and I doubt. I succeed and I fail. I win and I lose.

And you know what gets me through the dark times where I'm all alone in my head?

Remembering why I started in the first place.

It's crazy, but when I don't feel like giving my best or taking another step or showing up I go back to my first love: helping beautiful people like you figure out how good and great you really are.

Which is the real secret to living a bigger life: it can't be about you.

  • When self-pity rears it's ugly head this week, go find somebody to serve.

  • When fear begins to grip your heart, go take a step of faith and put yourself out there.

  • When you feel like pulling the pin and isolating yourself, reach out and ask for help.

We all struggle from time to time. We all doubt. We all question. We all lose heart.

That's just normal life happening.

But, the best and bravest of us believe in something more. I'm talking about you, amigo.

Just something to think about as you navigate the twists and turns of life today.

Here's to not giving up...
