Steverino's best advice for getting unstuck...

Bonjour my legendary friend...

Recently I was emailed a very serious question on the interwebs...

"I don't want to live, what should I do?"

I began my response with a compassionate question...

"Do you mean you don't want to live like this anymore? You can't imagine going through life in your current situation. Something needs to change. And, that's good news, because you can always change..."

I also personally referred the individual to a professional counseling organisation in AU.

So, why am I sharing this with you?

Because no matter how stuck, trapped or hopeless you may feel (personally or professionally) you too can always always always change...

You can change how you feel...

Go for a walk. Take a nap. Eat better. Phone a funny friend. Get out of the office. Whatever works for you, work it...

You can change the story in your head...

This one is a bit more difficult but worth the headache. If you've got a negative soundtrack, you need to flip the script. I suggest focusing on gratitude:

  • One small thing you're thankful for...
  • One person in your life...
  • One positive experience you've had...

And, you can change your situation...

To quote the fabulous Morgan Freeman, "There's a bus leaving town every day." If you're hating your situation, then change it...

Deep down, what you're after (especially when your life is sucking royally) is to have some small sense of progress or development.

Baby steps...

Just a glimmer of hope is like oxygen to a drowning man...

So, do yourself a favour, my wise friend, and make at least one small change today.

And, ask yourself: "If I don't want to live like this anymore, then what should I do?"

I guarantee it will help you get unstuck.

Here's to disrupting the status quo...

I promise, they'll thank you for it, and you'll feel better too.
