Overcoming Set-backs the Steverino way...

Bueno el Capitan...

Sometimes life kicks the everlasting s#*& out of you...

You go through a nasty divorce...
You lose your job...
You fail to get that promotion...
You find out you have an incurable disease...
Your best-friend of a thousand years stops taking your calls...
A beloved pet dies...
And, about a thousand other heartbreaking ordeals...

None of us make it out of here alive or without a few scars.

Sobering? Yes.

Honest? 100%.

Fatal? No.

In those in-between moments, you have a choice to make (after you go mental for a moment or two)...

1. Pick up your ball and go home completely isolating yourself from the people in your life who can help you.
2. Asking for help.

I'm all for Option Two.

I'm pretty convinced that Hell isn't just some fiery place that bad people are destined for...

Hell is isolation...

Trying to go it alone...

By yourself.

Hurting people hurt others. So, if you're hurting reach out instead of lashing out or checking out.

Pick up the phone...

Knock on the door...

Message somebody.

I've said it before a thousand times: Asking for help is not a sign of weakness...it's a sign of strength.

That's right my wise friend. Keep reaching out. Especially if you're convinced that no one can help. I promise you we can. And, you're worth the effort. You really are.

If you're reading this and you have a friend who is going through a not-so-good time, then reach out to them. Take them out for a meal. Listen. Don't try to fix anything. Just be present.

As a famous guru said: We're all just walking each other home...

Here's to killing the brutal disease of loneliness...
