The Critically Important Role of Haters in Your Life

Bueno my kind compadre...

“I imagine one of the reasons people cling to their hates so stubbornly is because they sense, once hate is gone, they will be forced to deal with pain.”
― James Baldwin

Haters are gonna hate.

And, that's a good thing.

When people are against you, that's a sign that you're on to something...

That you stand for something.

It comes with the territory.

So, don't get your bent out of shape when the hate comes flooding your way...

Instead, be grateful.

As an older and wiser mentor of mine told me a long time ago:

'Your critics are your best teachers'.

It's true.

One of the biggest traps I see a lot of really really smart people fall into is trying to be liked by everyone.

It's just not possible.

In fact, it's exhausting.

That's why haters are important...

They give you clarity and insight into yourself...

They cause you to pause and do a bit of self-reflection...

They force you to strengthen your character and practice forgiveness...

And, they teach you what self-acceptance is really about.

So be grateful for whoever is giving you the shits right now.

Be kind in return.

They don't know it, but they're doing you a favour.

Here's to taking the higher road...
